About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans for cutting-edge networking products and solutions. You will leverage your deep expertise in network protocols, automation frameworks, and modern technologies to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our networking infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Strategy & Planning :

- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test strategies for complex networking features and functionalities, covering L2/L3 protocols, multicast, and other advanced network services.

- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective test methodologies.

- Define test environments, topologies, and configurations necessary to validate network solutions.

Test Execution & Analysis :

- Execute manual and automated test cases, analyze results, and identify defects.

- Perform root cause analysis of issues, isolate problems, and work closely with development teams for timely resolution.

- Conduct performance, scalability, and stress testing of network devices and systems.

Test Automation & Framework Development :

- Design, develop, and enhance robust test automation frameworks using Python.

- Implement new test cases and integrate them into existing automation suites.

- Utilize and contribute to test automation tools such as Pytest and Robot Framework.

- Develop scripts for test data generation, environment setup, and results reporting.

Protocol Expertise :

- Extensive testing experience with L2 protocols including VLAN, LACP, vPC, and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).

- Proven experience in testing Unicast routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and Layer-3 virtualization.

- Strong understanding and testing experience with Multicast Routing.

- Familiarity with advanced networking concepts like VXLAN and EVPN (Ethernet VPN).

Technical Domain Knowledge :

- Hands-on experience with GigaEthernet technologies (10/25/40/100 Gbps).

- Proficiency in testing Access Control Lists (ACL) and Quality of Service (QoS) features.

- Experience with XML for configuration or data parsing.

- Working knowledge of Container technologies, specifically Docker.

System & Tooling :

- Strong proficiency in Linux OS for test environment setup, scripting, and troubleshooting.

- Utilize network testing tools and traffic generators effectively.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Work closely with cross-functional teams including software development, hardware engineering, and product management.

- Clearly communicate test progress, defect status, and risks to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : 5-9 years of proven experience in network testing, with a strong focus on L2/L3 protocols.

Networking Expertise :

- Deep understanding and hands-on experience in testing Network L2, L3 protocols, and features (e.g., VLAN, LACP, vPC, OSPF, BGP, Multicast).

- Solid grasp of Unicast routing (OSPF, BGP, Layer-3 virtualization) and Multicast Routing concepts.

- Experience with VXLAN and EVPN.

Programming & Automation :

- Excellent knowledge in Python coding with hands-on experience in test automation framework development and enhancements.

- Proficiency with Pytest and/or Robot Framework.

Operating Systems :

- Strong working knowledge of Linux OS.

Network Hardware :

- Experience with GigaEthernet (10/25/40/100 Gbps) technologies.

Networking Features :

- Experience in testing Access Control Lists (ACL) and Quality of Service (QoS).

Other Technologies :

- Familiarity with Container technologies (Docker).

- Experience with XML.

Desirable Skills (Good to Have) :

- Experience in testing FPGA-based switches.

- Experience in Smart NIC testing.

- Experience in Merchant ASIC testing.

Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
