Rickshaw Studios (subsidiary of Velankani Group) is seeking a talented VFX Artist to bring our action-adventure game to life with visually stunning and performance-optimized visual effects. You will create effects that enhance gameplay, storytelling, and the atmosphere—from magical abilities to environmental FX like storms, fire, light and dark magic. Working closely with our art and design teams, you'll ensure all effects align with the game's artistic vision and technical constraints in Unreal Engine 5.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and implement real-time visual effects for characters, environments, and gameplay events.
  • Work with particle systems, shaders, and materials to create magical, environmental, and combat-related effects.
  • Collaborate with designers and animators to ensure VFX support gameplay clarity and narrative immersion.
  • Optimize effects for real-time performance on PC and console targets.
  • Iterate based on feedback from supervisors and team-members.
  • Maintain a consistent visual style across all effects, aligned with the game's art direction.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5's Niagara particle systems.
  • Strong knowledge of shader programming(HLSL) and material editing.
  • Familiarity with VFX tools such as Houdini, Nuke, AfterEffects
  • Understanding of real-time optimization techniques for visual effects.
  • Experience creating effects for both stylized and semi-realistic art styles.

Experience:

  • 2+ years in game development, preferably on shipped titles.
  • A portfolio/reel showcasing a range of high-quality real-time VFX.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with procedural VFX workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or blueprint systems for effect triggers.
  • Familiarity with physics-driven effects (cloth, destruction, fluid simulation).
