Job Summary

The Quality Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of products and processes in stamping and molding operations. This role involves implementing quality control measures, analyzing defects, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

1. Quality Control & Assurance:

  • Monitor and maintain quality standards for stamping and molding processes.
  • Ensure in-process and final inspection meet specifications and customer expectations.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for defects and non-conformities.
  • Establish and maintain Quality Inspection Plans (QIP) and Control Plans.

2. Process Improvement & Problem-Solving:

  • Conduct process audits to identify quality gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) methodologies to enhance process efficiency.
  • Lead failure analysis (FA) and defect prevention activities in stamping and molding operations.

3. Supplier & Customer Quality Management:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw material quality meets required standards.
  • Address customer complaints and ensure effective corrective actions are taken.
  • Participate in customer audits and quality reviews.

4. Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other industry standards compliance.
  • Develop and update Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Quality Reports.
  • Ensure proper implementation of PPAP, FMEA, and APQP methodologies.

5. Team Management & Training:

  • Provide guidance and training to quality inspectors and production teams.
  • Drive a quality-focused culture across departments.
  • Assist in developing skill enhancement programs for quality personnel.

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 6+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on stamping and molding processes.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision manufacturing is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of stamping & molding processes, tooling, and materials.
  • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and metrology.
  • Experience with quality tools such as 8D, 5Why, SPC, MSA, and DOE.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM, Vision Systems, and other inspection equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Lead Auditor (ISO/IATF 16949) is a plus.
