Job Title: Associate Vice President - IT

Department: IT

Reports to: Senior Vice President – IT

Experience: 15 Years and above

Skill, Knowledge & Trainings:

  • Experience of independently leading a digital transformation initiative in the capacity of Program Manager
  • Ability to represent the program status, issues and risks at Board level committees or external expert committees
  • Significant prior experience in designing, building and supporting enterprise class systems in the capital markets / fixed income / foreign exchange / derivatives domain.
  • Experience with Requirements Analysis and Solution design in the Capital Markets domain, preferably in the post trade area (Settlement and Risk), either in IT companies serving Capital Markets / Fixed Income / FX / Derivatives or Treasury clients or in IT departments of such classes of user organizations
  • Experience of at least 5 years in managing software development projects with sound project estimation, planning and tracking skills, as well as in directing software development teams
  • Software programming experience in any one or more of Java / C# / C / C++ along with SQL
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and supporting tools
  • Thorough understanding SDLC processes including testing methodologies; exposure to automated testing would be an added advantage
  • Good Communication and Presentation skills

Core Competencies (Must have):

Additional Competencies (Nice to have):

Job Purpose: The successful candidate would join the IT Department of a critical Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI) organization which serves as a Qualified Central Counterparty (QCCP) for Government Securities, Money Market, FX and Derivatives transactions in the Indian financial markets.

The successful candidate would direct and manage “IT Transformation Program” for the Clearing, Risk Management and Settlement Systems of the organization. This program envisages a modernization of critical applications so as to align with the target state enterprise architecture, to adopt a contemporary or futuristic technology stack and tools, to improve system scalability, reliability, maintainability, and to reduce the time to market for change requests or new functionality requested by the business departments. He / she would be responsible for leading a set of application development teams, organized as domain level teams, through all the stages of

the development life cycle, while also working closely with all other project stakeholders.

Involvement in project initiation activities as well as contribution to technology “Proof of Concepts” (PoCs) would also be a part of the role.

In addition to leading the Transformation Program, the successful candidate would contribute their knowledge and skills to building and improving the organization, developing and mentoring people,

and driving and supporting organization level initiatives that may span across departments.

Area of Operations Key Responsibility

  1. Change Management or Transformation Member of a cross functional (Business / IT / Vendor) transformation team, envisioning the target state and milestones of the programme.
  2. Project Management Project Initiation, Requirements Analysis, Application Design Review, Project Estimation and Delivery Tracking, Test Cases Review, Application Support.
  3. Solution Design Evaluating solution options and proposing optimal solutions, conducting PoCs, building consensus among stakeholders.
  4. Recruitment and Team Building Developing assessment criteria, conducting interviews, problem solving, setting clear goals and delivering through teams. Developing people.
  5. Governance Reporting to Steering Committees, Board Level Committees and expert Committees as required for effective governance of the program.
