About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and developing cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems. You will collaborate across disciplines, including electrical and software engineering, to deliver high-performance and commercially viable solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for engineering excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed mechanical designs for high-performance and commercially viable electro-mechanical systems.
  2. Support the product development lifecycle, incorporating a balanced mix of electrical, mechanical, and software design, while understanding system-wide implications.
  3. Conduct in-depth engineering analyses of hardware solutions, leveraging expertise in kinematics, dynamics, generative design, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
  4. Plan, execute, and coordinate testing in line with internal protocols and industry reliability standards.
  5. Diagnose and resolve complex engineering challenges, ensuring operability, serviceability, and manufacturability.
  6. Assist in system integration by supporting automation module assembly and final product testing.
  7. Scout and evaluate vendors for material sourcing and component fabrication.
  8. Travel locally to vendor sites to address queries and perform quality control checks.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in mechanical system design.
  3. Proficiency in CAD modeling and FEM analysis tools; expertise in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and Ansys is preferred.
  4. A strong project portfolio showcasing innovative designs and successful implementations.
  5. Comprehensive understanding and application of engineering principles, theories, and practices within mechanical engineering.
  6. Hands-on experience designing systems requiring high precision and stability.
  7. Expertise in manufacturing techniques including sheet metal design, welding, and CNC machining.
  8. Advanced knowledge in kinematics, dynamics, motion control, mechanical hardware design, mechanism design, and rapid prototyping.
  9. Familiarity with industry standards and practices for component fabrication by machine shops or contract manufacturers.
