Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and developing cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems. You will collaborate across disciplines, including electrical and software engineering, to deliver high-performance and commercially viable solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for engineering excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical designs for high-performance and commercially viable electro-mechanical systems.
- Support the product development lifecycle, incorporating a balanced mix of electrical, mechanical, and software design, while understanding system-wide implications.
- Conduct in-depth engineering analyses of hardware solutions, leveraging expertise in kinematics, dynamics, generative design, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Plan, execute, and coordinate testing in line with internal protocols and industry reliability standards.
- Diagnose and resolve complex engineering challenges, ensuring operability, serviceability, and manufacturability.
- Assist in system integration by supporting automation module assembly and final product testing.
- Scout and evaluate vendors for material sourcing and component fabrication.
- Travel locally to vendor sites to address queries and perform quality control checks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in mechanical system design.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and FEM analysis tools; expertise in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and Ansys is preferred.
- A strong project portfolio showcasing innovative designs and successful implementations.
- Comprehensive understanding and application of engineering principles, theories, and practices within mechanical engineering.
- Hands-on experience designing systems requiring high precision and stability.
- Expertise in manufacturing techniques including sheet metal design, welding, and CNC machining.
- Advanced knowledge in kinematics, dynamics, motion control, mechanical hardware design, mechanism design, and rapid prototyping.
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices for component fabrication by machine shops or contract manufacturers.
