About the Role: Virtual Building Studio is looking for an experienced and detail-orientedLaser Scanning Registration Specialist (Data Processing Technician)to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that raw laser scanning data received from clients is accuratelyregistered, aligned, and preparedfor downstream workflows such asScan-to-BIM (S2B)andScan-to-CAD (S2C) . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working withpoint cloud datafrom multiple scanner types and proficiency inregistration, stitching, and quality control processesusing industry-standard tools.Key Responsibilities: Import, clean, align, and register raw point cloud data from various laser scanners (Leica, FARO, Trimble, NavVis, etc.). Perform accuratetarget-based and cloud-to-cloud registrationand stitching of scan data. Deliver final registered datasets in formats such as.e57, .rcp, .las, .ptx, .pts, .xyz , as per project requirements. Ensurequality controlfor completeness, alignment accuracy, and usability in downstream S2B/S2C processes. Collaborate with project managers, BIM/CAD teams, and clients to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. Maintain organized documentation of registration workflows, file structures, and versioning. Troubleshoot and resolve registration or data alignment issues efficiently. Stay updated onnew technologies, software updates, and best practicesin laser scanning and registration.Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum3 years of experiencein laser scan data registration and processing. Proficiency in registration software, including: Leica Cyclone FARO Scene NavVis IVION/Core CloudCompare, ReCap, or 3DReshaper(as applicable) Strong understanding ofscanner file formats(.e57, .las, .ptx, .rzf, .fls, .rcs/.rcp, etc.). Experience with bothterrestrial and mobile scanningworkflows. Familiarity withgeoreferencingand coordinate transformation techniques. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects. Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications: Educational background inSurveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related fields. Experience working withdrone or LiDAR datasets .
