We are seeking an experienced Manual QA Engineer with strong skills in both API and UI testing. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling tasks independently while adhering to best practices in software testing.

The role will involve testing and validating APIs and UI components for functionality, performance, and security. You should have a deep understanding of the Agile methodology and be proficient in JIRA for managing test cases and bugs.

This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as effective communication skills. Ownership of tasks and activities will be an essential aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities :

1. API Testing :

- Conduct manual testing of APIs to ensure their functionality, reliability, and performance.

- Write test cases for API endpoints and verify API responses, request parameters, and error handling.

- Use tools like Postman, SoapUI, or any other API testing tool to execute manual API tests.

- Identify, report, and track API defects using JIRA or similar defect tracking tools.

- Perform regression and integration testing of API services.

2. UI Testing :

- Test and validate the user interface (UI) of applications across different devices and browsers.

- Verify UI elements for consistency, usability, and responsiveness in line with design specifications.

- Identify and report UI-related defects, ensuring they are tracked and resolved in JIRA.

- Perform manual testing of front-end functionality, including workflows, interactions, and UI validations.

3. Test Case Design and Execution :

- Design, create, and execute comprehensive test cases for API and UI based on functional specifications and requirements.

- Document test results and defects in detail, ensuring clarity and reproducibility.

- Collaborate with developers to clarify requirements and reproduce reported issues.

4. JIRA Management :

- Manage test cases, test executions, and defect tracking in JIRA.

- Update and maintain JIRA tickets with relevant information about the testing process and defects.

- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to provide testing progress updates.

5. Agile Methodologies :

- Work in an Agile environment, ensuring timely testing of new features and bug fixes in each sprint.

- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Ensure that testing efforts are aligned with the development cycle and provide feedback on potential risks.

6. Collaboration and Communication :

- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure thorough understanding of requirements and project scope.

- Take ownership of all assigned tasks and be proactive in addressing issues and ensuring timely completion.

- Maintain clear and concise communication regarding test progress, defects, and testing challenges.

7. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills :

- Apply strong analytical skills to identify root causes of defects and propose solutions.

- Review and analyze requirements to ensure testing covers all relevant scenarios.

- Continuously improve the testing process and suggest improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in Manual Quality Assurance with a focus on API and UI testing.

- API Testing : Hands-on experience with tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools for testing RESTful APIs.

- UI Testing : Proficiency in testing web and mobile applications, ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.

- JIRA : Experience using JIRA for test case management, defect tracking, and sprint management.

- Agile Methodologies : Solid understanding of Agile principles and ability to work in an Agile environment.

- Analytical Skills : Strong ability to analyze functional requirements and design effective test cases.

- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting test results, defects, and test cases clearly.

- Ownership : Ability to take ownership of the testing process and responsibilities within the team.

- Problem-Solving : Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills :

- Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g. , Selenium, JUnit) is a plus but not required.

- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g. , LoadRunner, JMeter) is a bonus.

- Understanding of databases and ability to perform basic SQL queries for data validation.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
