Responsibilities :

Platform & Technical Leadership

- Lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of key platform components across data observability, developer tooling, and use-case enablement within the Lumi platform.

- Champion modern data engineering best practices and distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Beam, and Flink.

- Drive platform scalability, high availability, and performance across petabyte-scale data workloads.

- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to maintain platform leadership.

Strategic Execution & Transformation ;

- Spearhead the migration of on-prem Hadoop workloads (Hive, MapReduce, Spark) to public cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure experience also valuable).

- Define and drive multi-year platform strategy and OKRs aligned with enterprise data goals.

- Collaborate across cloud engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver cohesive and innovative platform solutions.

People Leadership & Talent Development :

- Build, mentor, and lead a world-class engineering team with a strong culture of technical excellence, accountability, and innovation.

- Conduct performance reviews, lead career development planning, and oversee all talent processes.

- Actively recruit top engineering talent with a growth mindset and strong emotional intelligence.

Agile & DevOps Excellence :

- Lead teams using Lean and Agile methodologies for iterative product development.

- Ensure 24x7 platform reliability and operational support with best-in-class incident response strategies.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and DevOps maturity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Act as the principal point of contact for executive leadership, product stakeholders, and technical teams.

- Drive stakeholder alignment, transparent communication, and timely updates on risk and progress.

- Launch developer advocacy programs to encourage internal adoption and external platform excellence.

Requirements :

- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.

- Proven expertise in large-scale Big Data platform engineering, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar public cloud environments (AWS, Azure).

- Hands-on experience with distributed data frameworks (e. g., Apache Spark, Beam, Flink).

- Strong understanding of MPP systems, PostgreSQL, NoSQL technologies (HBase, Cassandra).

- Track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions with defined KPIs and measurable success.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience influencing senior leadership.

- Certifications in GCP, AWS, or Azure.

- Experience leading developer experience or developer productivity initiatives at scale.

- Expertise with data governance, observability, or security tooling in cloud ecosystems.

- PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications (Scrum Master, SAFe) are a plus.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
