Junior Accountant records financial transactions, assists in preparing financial statements and reports, manages accounts payable and receivable, conducts bank reconciliations, and helps with month-end and year-end closing processes under the supervision of senior accounting staff. Key duties include posting journal entries, updating ledgers, and assisting with audits and tax filings to ensure compliance with financial regulations. 

Key Responsibilities

Recording Financial Transactions: Posting journal entries and updating ledgers to maintain accurate financial records. 

Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports. 

Accounts Management: Processing invoices and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. 

Reconciliation: Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records. 

Month-End Close: Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. 

Compliance: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and assisting with audits. 

Payroll: Helping with the administration of monthly payroll. 

Software Proficiency: Utilizing accounting software for daily operations. 

Collaboration: Working with other members of the finance team to achieve accounting goals. 

Essential Skills

Basic Accounting Principles: A strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts. 

Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain precision in financial records and reports. 

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to interact with colleagues and stakeholders. 

Software Proficiency: Competence with accounting software and general office applications. 

Analytical Skills: The capacity to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies. 

Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. 

Typical Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is often required. 

Experience: Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping is often preferred, but many roles are entry-level.
