Engineering Trader - Mumbai

Background

Overview

To develop and driveforward Longulf’s Engineering Business operation. To guide the Division to the agreed objectives in the business plan.


Longulf Trading is a global supplier of Packaging Raw Materials and Engineering products. This position reports to the Engineering Division.


The jobholder has a defined brief with specific performance targets identified in the annual plan. Additionally, the jobholder must be flexible in responding to business development opportunities.


The jobholder will be supported by our regional offices in Turkey, Kenya, India, China and Egypt.


The jobholder will operate within their domain and bring valuable commercial market experience to Longulf.


The emphasis is on teamwork. The jobholder must work closely with their designated operations support staff.


The jobholder should take an active role in the organisations risk management procedure.


Key deliverables (Essential duties and responsibilities)


To generate business in technical products with customers in Africa and Asia – which is called third party trade.


Above business should be in products that the candidate has a readymade supplier base. To seek out and analyze potential suppliers and customers with the express purpose of establishing sustained commitments on both sides.


We are open to geographies where the jobholder has had previous contacts. To acquire knowledge and expertise in relevant geographies and products enabling Longulf to become a prominent trader of Engineering products.


To visit and build relations with suppliers and customers to reinforce Longulf’s reputation in the market and to maintain high standards of supply and service to customers.


To make full use of the regional office network and work together in building supplier base or potential customers.


Longulf Trading has a strong Finance Team and Trade Finance arrangements with London based Banks, it will be possible to fund these third-party business activities however the business has to sustain itself on a regular basis.


To liaise closely with logistics, accounts, and docs to ensure that they are clear upon what is required of them and that concernedparties work as a team to achievethe company’s overall objectives.


To manage risks and fulfil commercial potential without exposing the company to undue risks. Business to be conducted as per the antibribery policy in place.


Essential Skills


Good Spoken and written English and an additional language.

Good communicator with Report writing & Presentation skills.

Comfortable using technology with good computer skills.

Qualified to a degree level in Technology, Engineering, or Scientific Qualifications.

Relevant certification (e.g., Business Administration / Sales & Marketing) will be preferred.
