Ovyo is proud to be partnering with them to manage this recruitment drive and hire candidates directly to the client.Job Overview:We are seeking someone to Lead the design, development, and testing of critical space mechanisms for launch vehicles, ensuring alignment with mission objectives, safety standards, and technical specifications.Responsibilities:- Lead a team of engineers in the design, analysis, and testing of spacecraft mechanisms (e.g., separation systems, deployment units, and actuation systems). - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, propulsion, avionics) to integrate mechanisms into launch vehicle architectures. - Perform hand calculations and simulation studies to assess the impact of various design choices to arrive at the optimum design with sufficient margins. - Develop and enforce technical standards, drawings, and documentation for mechanisms. - Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies for mechanism-related deliverables. - Conduct failure mode and criticality analysis and develop failure mitigation strategiesRequired Experience:- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. - 10+ years of experience in space mechanisms design, with 3+ years in a lead/managerial role. - Proficiency in CAD software (preferred - CREO) and simulation tools (e.g., ADAMS, hyperworks, MATLAB/Simulink). - Strong understanding of spacecraft systems, dynamics, and testing protocols. - Excellent communication and leadership skills.Preferred Skills:- Advanced expertise in mechanisms design and multibody dynamics analysis for complex mechanical systems. - Prior experience in robotics, automation, or aerospace industries, with a proven track record in developing high-reliability mechanical systems. - Familiarity with advanced simulation tools (e.g., ADAMS, MATLAB/Simulink) for dynamic system analysis. - Strong background in mechanical system integration and testing, with a track record of successful project delivery in high-stakes environments.
