Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced QS and Planning Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will manage various aspects of quantity surveying, project planning, and execution coordination for high-rise and MIVAN construction projects. This is an on-site role requiring expertise in cost management, vendor interactions, and project tracking.



  • Quantity Surveying:
  1. Manage vendor billing and certify invoices.
  2. Prepare and analyze BOQs, tenders, and estimates.
  3. Track procurement and material usage.


  • Budgeting and Cost Optimization:
  1. Develop and manage project budgets with precision.
  2. Implement cost-cutting measures and value engineering strategies.
  3. Ensure optimal resource utilization and financial efficiency.


  • Cost Management:
  1. Oversee project cash flow and cost management activities.
  2. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.


  • Project Planning and Coordination:
  1. Create detailed project plans and schedules, ensuring timely milestone tracking.
  2. Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting concerns promptly.
  3. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues.


  • Meetings and Documentation:
  1. Organise and participate in site, vendor, and client meetings.
  2. Document and present minutes of meetings (MOMs).
  3. Maintain comprehensive records for compliance and project tracking.


  • Design Coordination:
  1. Liaise with design teams to address and resolve site-level challenges.
  2. Ensure that design changes align with project goals and timelines.


  • Billing Management:
  1. Oversee the preparation and submission of client invoices based on the contract terms and project milestones.
  2. Ensure that all billable work is captured, client billing and accurately recorded, including verifying quantities and rates against contractual agreements.
  3. Monitor cash flow, ensure timely invoicing, and resolve any discrepancies related to client billing.
  4. Liaise with project managers and the finance team to track and manage the progress of billable work.


  • Sub-contractor Billing:
  1. Review and process sub-contractor invoices, ensuring that all work completed by sub-contractors is verified and accurately billed.
  2. Ensure sub-contractor bills align with contractual agreements, including payment terms, rates, and scope of work.
  3. Manage the reconciliation of sub-contractor invoices with the work done on-site and project timelines.
  4. Address and resolve discrepancies in sub-contractor billing and payments, collaborating with procurement and finance teams.


  • Client Billing & Reconciliation:
  1. Coordinate with the finance team to ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of client accounts against invoices issued.
  2. Assist in the management of contractual amendments that impact billing 
  3. Perform project financial reconciliations, ensuring that all billings, payments, and costs are accounted for accurately.
  4. Prepare financial reports to track progress on budgets and forecast future project cash flows.


  • Rate Analysis:
  1. Conduct detailed rate analysis for labor, material, and overhead costs to establish accurate cost estimates for various project tasks. 


Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in costing and project management, preferably in the construction or real estate sector.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong expertise in BOQ preparation, budgeting, auditing, and reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for cost estimation and project management.
