Job Summary:
Seeking a General Manager - Quality (Quality Head) to lead and drive the quality assurance and quality control functions across its manufacturing and supply chain operations. The role demands an experienced leader with a strong understanding of quality systems, compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure world-class product quality, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Key Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Establish and drive a culture of quality excellence across the organization.
- Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Ensure robust Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) processes across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Implement process control measures, statistical quality tools, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality assurance and compliance.
Supplier & Vendor Quality Management:
- Develop and enforce supplier quality management programs to ensure raw material and component quality.
- Conduct supplier audits and work closely with procurement to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Drive continuous supplier development initiatives to improve vendor performance.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure compliance with national and international quality standards (ISO, BIS, CE).
- Lead internal and external quality audits, including customer and third-party audits.
- Handle non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing:
- Implement Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives to drive process improvements.
- Reduce waste, rework, and non-conformances through structured quality improvement projects.
- Establish a customer complaint resolution process and drive corrective action plans.
Team Development & Training:
- Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Inspection teams.
- Conduct training programs on quality systems, compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Foster a culture of accountability and quality consciousness across all departments.
Customer Focus & Quality Excellence:
- Collaborate with the sales and customer support teams to address customer feedback and quality concerns.
- Ensure on-time resolution of customer complaints through structured problem-solving approaches.
- Drive product testing, validation, and certification to meet market and customer expectations.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical,).
- 20+ years of experience in Quality Management, preferably in the manufacturing/export industry.
- Proven leadership experience in QA/QC, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and TQM.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality standards, and audits.
- Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control), RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and CAPA.
- Proficiency in quality management software and ERP systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environments.
