Job Purpose
The Regional Category Sales Lead/Manager/Head is responsible for overseeing the sales and revenue growth of a specific product category or product line within the Indian market. This role requires a deep understanding of the market, industry trends, and customer needs. The Category Sales Head is responsible for formulating and executing a
sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share targets.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Category Sales Strategy
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the assigned product category, aligning it with the overall company's objectives.
Market Analysis
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics within the Indian market.
Revenue Growth
Drive revenue growth by setting and achieving sales targets for the product category.
Customer Relationship Management
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers and clients, ensuring their needs are met and their feedback is incorporated into product development and sales
strategies.
Team Leadership
Lead and manage a team of sales professionals, including sales managers and representatives. Provide guidance, support, and training to the sales team to ensure they meet their targets.
Product Knowledge
Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the assigned product category,
including its features, benefits, and technical specifications.
Sales Forecasting
Develop accurate sales forecasts for the product category, monitor performance against targets, and take corrective actions as needed.
Promotion and Marketing
Collaborate with the marketing department to create and execute marketing and promotional campaigns for the product category.
Budget Management
Manage the sales budget for the category, optimizing resource allocation for maximum
ROI.
Reporting
Generate and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to senior management
Compliance
Ensure that all sales activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

- Proven experience in sales and sales management, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- In-depth knowledge of the Indian market and the specific industry related to the product category.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
