Responsibilities:

  • Worked with engineering / product teams to enable Privacy Engineering and Privacy by Design
  • Work to align advanced technologies and Privacy by Design principles from the first stages of development and ensure that the data use meets established regulatory compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with data product development teams creating new uses of data that employ privacy features.
  • Drive adoption of Privacy Enhanced technologies
  • Hands-on experience in executing data privacy projects/programs
  • Conduct Data privacy and Data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks associated with new projects, systems, or processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with applicable regulations such as DPDP, GDPR, CCPA or HIPAA, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Legal, IT etc. to ensure privacy considerations are integrated into product and system design.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on privacy-related matters, including data handling practices, consent mechanisms, and data subject rights.
  • Monitor and analyse changes in privacy laws and regulations, and assess their impact on the organisation’s privacy program.
  • Lead or assist in responding to privacy incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy-related topics, delivering training sessions and awareness programs to employees as needed.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of privacy controls and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in privacy compliance, data protection, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts related to data privacy and security, including encryption, anonymisation, access controls, etc.
  • Experience with privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
