Our mission is to provide a seamless and innovative online shopping experience to millions of value-conscious customers. We're building our technology platform from the ground up, and we need a dynamic, hands-on technology leader to spearhead this effort.


Role Overview :


We're looking for a highly skilled and hands-on technology head to join our early-stage team. The ideal candidate will not only lead but also actively contribute to the development of our e-commerce platform, getting involved in coding best practices, code-reviews and architecting core features. This is a unique opportunity to build and scale the entire engineering operation from scratch, making a significant impact on the growth and success of the company.

Key Responsibilities :

Hands-On Engineering Leadership :

- Lead by example by coding, designing and solving complex technical challenges.

- Develop and execute the technical roadmap in alignment with the company's vision and growth plans.

- Architect scalable, high-performance systems from the ground up.

- Build and scale a top-notch engineering team, while remaining hands-on with core development.

- Own the end-to-end technology stack and make strategic decisions on architecture, tools, and Development & Innovation :


- Collaborate with product managers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.


- Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure architecture for both front-end and back-end systems.

- Identify and evaluate third-party tech partners and solutions.

- Oversee development timelines and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of features.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends to keep the platform cutting-edge.

Team Leadership & Mentorship :

- Hire and mentor a high-performing team of developers.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure the team adopts best practices in code quality, testing, and agile methodologies.

Security & Performance :

- Ensure the platform is reliable, scalable, and optimized for performance.

- Implement robust cybersecurity practices to safeguard customer and company data.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with 2+ years leading a technology team in an early-stage or scaling environment.

- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems from scratch, especially in e commerce or product-centric companies.

- Expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies, with experience in modern tech stacks (React, Node.js, etc.).

- A passionate coder who stays hands-on with code and architecture.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.), DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices.

- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with direct contribution to the codebase.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic thinker who can translate business challenges into technical solutions.
