Job Description: As a Business Development Specialist at The Oceann, you will be instrumental in ensuring the satisfaction and long-term success of our maritime industry clients. You will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and our valued customers, focusing on maintaining strong relationships and delivering unparalleled service.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture strong, trust-based relationships with key clients in the maritime sector, specializing in chartering, ship brokering, and operations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for client inquiries, issues, and escalations, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Proactively engage with clients to understand their business needs, challenges, and goals, and provide tailored solutions that enhance their operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including sales, operations, and logistics to ensure seamless service delivery and exceed customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to review performance metrics, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for service improvement and expansion.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions, providing insights and guidance to clients to support their decision-making processes.
  • Drive customer adoption and usage of our services through effective onboarding, training sessions, and proactive communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions using CRM software, and prepare reports on customer satisfaction, retention, and account health.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role within the maritime industry, with a solid understanding of chartering, ship brokering, or operations management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events.
