Engineering Leader – Railway Industry Location: Bangalore/MumbaiSummaryThe Industry Leader - Railways will be responsible for spearheading the company's efforts to become a leading provider of engineering solutions and services to the railway industry. This role involves building strong relationships with railway stakeholders, understanding their needs, and translating those needs into innovative and impactful engineering solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesIndustry ExpertiseDevelop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the railway industry, including its challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends. Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Act as a subject matter expert on railway-related engineering solutions and technologies.Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new business opportunities within the railway sector, especially around train control, signaling, FRMCS and digital solutions for the rail industry Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting the railway industry. Conduct regular sessions with all internal stakeholders (Business units, Delivery units, Sales, marketing) about Rail capabilities and our offerings Build and maintain strong relationships with key railway stakeholders, including rail operators and manufacturers Create Portfolio offers for various streams like rolling stock, Signaling and operationsSolution DevelopmentCollaborate with internal teams (e.g., product development, engineering, sales) to develop and deliver innovative engineering solutions for the railway industry. Translate customer needs and industry trends into actionable product requirements. Ensure that solutions are aligned with the strategic objectives of the company and the needs of the railway industry. Create Accelerators for faster development cyclesTechnical LeadershipStay abreast of emerging technologies and their potential applications in the railway industry. Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and systems domains. Drive innovation, process improvements, and the adoption of new technologies (e.g., CBTC, ETCS, predictive maintenance, IoT).Customer EngagementRepresent the company at industry events and conferences. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Provide excellent customer service and support.Team LeadershipIf managing a team, mentor and develop team members to achieve their full potential. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Ensure that team members are aligned with the company's strategic objectives.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience:Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the railway industry, preferably with a understanding of Rail standards including SIL and EN5012x Proven experience in business development, solution development, and/or technical leadership.Mandatory Skills:Strong understanding of the railway industry, including its challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends. Knowledge of specific railway technologies, such as signaling, train control Experience with digital transformation initiatives in the railway industry Experience with data analytics applications in the railway industry preferably with Artificial Intelligence Experience with Agile project management methodologies. Willingness to travel to customer locations, including domestic and international travels Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
