Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineering


NIKSUN is the recognized worldwide leader in making the Unknown Known, by using next-generation technology that revolutionizes the way networks and services are secured, protected, and managed. The company develops and deploys a complete range of award-winning forensics, compliance, security surveillance, and performance management solutions for applications ranging from core infrastructures to edge and branch environments.

We are looking for Cloud software engineer to build and maintain a cloud platform to host a new service offering. You will play a strategic role in maintaining the platform: cluster, storage, and management networks.


Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, monitor large Kubernetes clusters optimized for compute and data storage
  • Secure the cluster and make sure it adheres to industry standards
  • Update OS, Kubernetes components on a regular basis
  • Document procedures for repetitive tasks and automate them.
  • Troubleshoot incidents across infrastructure, network, storage, levels of stack.
  • Configure switches, routers, firewalls that support the cluster
  • Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
  • Research and understand new technologies around application monitoring, network security, privacy, virtualization, etc.


Requirements

A qualified candidate must be proficient in one or more of the following:

  • Working knowledge with Kubernetes (CKAD / CKA / CKA Security preferred)
  • bare metal management and provisioning
  • automated deployment and configuration
  • networking and network security solution for containers
  • Installing, configuring, upgrading applications
  • familiarity with containerization, dockerfiles, docker registry
  • Monitoring tools - Prometheus, Grafana
  • Data storage in Kubernetes: rook-ceph, ZFS, NFS
  • Backup and restore of configuration and data
  • Shell Scripting (bash/sh/csh/zsh/dash)
  • Python, Go language
  • System-level diagnostic tools - netstat, tcpdump, ethtool, ss, dmesg
  • Contributors to CNCF open source projects will be a plus.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
