Job Title: Azure Cloud Database Engineer

Location: Kolkata, India

Experience: 3+ years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design & Management: Design, deploy, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Azure Cosmos DB, and other database services. Ensure optimal performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance using Azure Monitor and other tools. Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security measures to protect data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Automation & Scripting: Create and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline database management tasks and deployments using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM templates.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide support for database-related issues and perform troubleshooting to resolve performance, connectivity, and configuration problems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design and integrate database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Azure cloud database management, including hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and other related services.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Azure database services and features.
  • Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates for automation.
  • Knowledge of database security practices and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery processes in Azure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or other relevant Azure certifications.
