Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain costing models and systems to accurately estimate and analyze product costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, production, and procurement, to gather cost data and ensure accuracy and completeness of cost estimates.
  • Analyze cost variances, trends, and drivers, providing insights and recommendations to management for cost optimization and improvement.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews and audits to identify areas of cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and analysis to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and projects, working closely with stakeholders to implement cost-saving strategies and achieve financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on cost accounting principles, tools, and processes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes related to cost accounting and manufacturing, incorporating insights into cost management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting or costing management roles, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting software and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex cost data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Certification in cost accounting or related field (e.g., CMA, CPA) preferred.
