Summary

We are looking for an experienced Performance Testing Lead to design and execute performance testing strategies, ensuring our systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient under varying conditions. You will be responsible for building and refining performance testing frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of system performance. Requirements

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design and execution of performance testing strategies to assess application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop performance test plans outlining objectives, scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Design and implement load, stress, and endurance tests using tools like Locust, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
  • Simulate user loads and scenarios to measure system behavior under peak traffic and resource usage.
  • Build and maintain Python-based performance test scripts, automating key processes and integrating into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop custom performance testing tools in Python to extend capabilities of off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Monitor system performance during tests, analyzing metrics like response times, throughput, and resource utilization.
  • Identify, diagnose, and report performance issues, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure performance testing environments are properly configured and representative of production setups.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to optimize test environments for accurate results.
  • Work with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to integrate performance considerations early in the development lifecycle.
  • Provide regular reports to stakeholders on performance trends, issues, and recommendations.
  • Refine performance testing methodologies and tools, incorporating the latest trends and innovations.
  • Perform benchmarking tests to compare application performance against industry standards and historical data.
  • Contribute to capacity planning by predicting system behavior under future loads and ensuring scalability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring performance considerations are integrated into workflows.
  • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous feedback on system performance.
  • Document performance testing processes, scripts, and results for future reference and troubleshooting.
  • Promote best practices for performance testing, fostering a culture of performance awareness across the team.
  • Participate in pre-release testing activities to ensure performance stability before deployment.
  • Update performance testing metrics after each release to maintain visibility on quality and trends.

What You Need:

  • Proven expertise in performance testing and a deep understanding of performance testing tools and methodologies.
  • Strong experience with Python for building performance test scripts and custom tools.
  • Proficiency in load testing tools like Locust, JMeter, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab) and performance testing integration.
  • Strong analytical skills for monitoring and interpreting performance metrics (response times, throughput, CPU/memory utilization).
  • Knowledge of system architecture, distributed systems, and resource optimization.
  • Ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and integrating performance testing into sprints.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting insights and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Bonus: Experience with containerized environments (Docker) and Kubernetes.
