Position Title:Senior Manager, IT ApplicationsLocation:BITS Mumbai Campus Experience Required:~15 years Reporting To:VP – ITRole Overview The IT Application Manager will be accountable for managing and ensuring seamless operations of all academic, administrative, and enterprise IT applications at the BITS Mumbai Campus. This includes oversight ofSalesforce CRM & Admissions, Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), Library Management System, Financial ERP, HRMS, and other mission-critical applications. The role will involve driving efficiency, integration, security, and innovation in technology solutions that support faculty, staff, and students.Key Responsibilities Application Management & Operations Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications (deployment, configuration, upgrades, integration, performance optimization). Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of all academic and administrative applications. Oversee issue resolution, incident management, and root cause analysis for application-related problems. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with academic leaders and administrative heads to understand requirements and deliver effective IT solutions. Act as the primary liaison with application vendors and service providers. Lead user adoption initiatives, including training and support. Strategic Planning & Governance Define and execute the application roadmap in alignment with institutional digital transformation goals. Establish governance standards, documentation, and compliance with IT policies. Recommend and implement innovative technology solutions to enhance teaching, learning, and operations. Team Leadership & Vendor Management Lead and mentor the application support team at campus level. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts/SLAs, and ensure quality service delivery. Promote a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Integration & Data Management Drive seamless integration of CRM, SIS, LMS, ERP, HRMS, and other systems. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across platforms. Maintain compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and higher education regulatory requirementsQualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred). Around15 years of progressive experiencein IT application management, ideally in higher education or large enterprise environments. Expertise in managingSalesforce CRM, ERP (Finance & HR), SIS, LMS, Library Management, and related systems. Strong experience inapplication integration, vendor management, and IT governance. Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing complex projects. Knowledge ofcybersecurity, compliance, and digital transformation best practices.Key Skills & Competencies Functional and technical expertise in enterprise applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent project management and change management capability. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability.
