Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the retail strategy in line with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, including expansion into new regions or channels.
- Align retail initiatives with broader organizational goals and ensure consistent brand messaging across all retail platforms.
2. Financial Management (P&L):
- Own and manage the P&L for the retail division, ensuring revenue targets, gross margins, and profitability are achieved.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the retail operations.
- Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for increasing operational efficiency.
- Analyze financial performance, market trends, and customer data to make informed business decisions.
3. Operational Excellence:
- Oversee daily retail operations, including store management, inventory control, and supply chain logistics.
- Ensure that all stores maintain high standards of customer service, product quality, and store presentation.
- Implement best practices in retail operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
4. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing retail team, including store managers and regional leaders.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation within the retail team.
- Set performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
5. Customer Experience:
- Champion customer-centric initiatives to ensure a superior shopping experience across all retail touchpoints.
- Analyze customer feedback and market trends to continually refine the retail offering.
- Develop loyalty programs, promotions, and marketing campaigns that drive customer engagement and retention.
6. Marketing and Brand Management:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive footfall and sales.
- Ensure brand consistency across all retail outlets and marketing materials.
- Identify and capitalize on trends to position the brand effectively in the market.
7. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all retail operations comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures that minimize operational risks.
- Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in retail management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role with P&L responsibility.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability in a retail environment.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, customer behavior, and market trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
