Simplotel is a Bangalore-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company helping over 2,000 hotels across 21 countries grow their direct business. We are powering e-commerce for some of the largest hotels in India. The name Simplotel comes from a combination of Simple and Hotel - our mission is to Simplify the life of hoteliers through technology.
Simplotel is a 'Shopify for Hotels', was founded in October 2013, and is funded by Go-MMT - India's largest Online Travel Agency. Simplotel was awarded the best startup in travel & hospitality for 2021 by Startup India, an initiative of the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry in India.
Position : Manager - Engineering
We're looking for an Engineering Manager with a proven track record of leading software development teams to accelerate innovation of our SaaS offering. Adept at planning, resource allocation, and fostering a collaborative work environment to drive projects to success.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a passion for mentoring team members, and strong process skills to ensure high quality delivery of product. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Build, train, and manage a strong team of engineers.
- Monitor performance and mentor the team to ensure high-quality work.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes to optimize productivity and quality assurance.
- Collaborate closely with product management and design teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to coding standards, and security protocols.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our products and recommending strategic enhancements.
- Define project milestones, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to mitigate risks and ensure timely delivery.
- Lead efforts to ensure the security and compliance of our systems, including data protection, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement to maximize project success.
- Create and maintain the technical vision and architecture for our global SaaS offering.
Qualifications :
- 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in software engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript technologies (e., Django, Flask, React.js, Node.js) and familiarity with modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, etc.)
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to build, mentor, and motivate high-performing engineering teams.
- Ability to define and monitor processes.
- Demonstrated experience in independently running engineering functions, from project planning to execution and delivery.
- Understanding of infrastructure and running a product as a service to ensure high availability and scalability of our SaaS product.
- Team player with good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric mindset
