Role OverviewAt SaaS22, we’re building powerful, scalable, and reliable SaaS solutions - and we’re looking for experienced backend engineers to help build and shape the foundation of our scalable SaaS platform. You’ll architect and maintain backend systems, drive DevOps best practices, and leverage AI tools to move fast - without compromising code quality or reliability.What You’ll Be Doing- Own enterprise-level systems - develop robust, maintainable backend applications using modern engineering practices. Deliver features end-to-end - from architecture to deployment - with clean, tested, and well-documented code. - Build for scale and reliability - create highly available services, optimize performance under load, and lead efforts in autoscaling, fault tolerance, and system robustness. - Drive our cloud-first, DevOps approach - use your expertise to manage infrastructure on AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and containerised environments. Own deployments with Docker and tools like Terraform. - Use AI to move faster, smarter - leverage modern LLM tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to accelerate development, refactor intelligently, and debug with understanding. - Collaborate cross-functionally - work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to build features that bring real value to customers. - Champion quality - write automated tests, value collaborative code reviews, and improve observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting. - Stay sharp - continuously explore new backend technologies, cloud tooling, and architecture patterns to keep our systems and skills future-ready.What We’re Looking ForWe care more about practical experience and ownership. If you love solving hard problems at scale and take pride in your work, we’d love to talk.- 3+ years of experience building distributed backend systems at scale. - Strong in Java or Python, with a deep understanding of backend architecture, performance, and reliability. Comfortable building and consuming REST or gRPC APIs. - Solid database fundamentals - experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query tuning, indexing, caching, and schema design. Comfortable with NoSQL stores like DynamoDB, Cassandra, or ClickHouse for high-throughput, low-latency applications. - Experience developing AI-driven systems using vector databases, embedding pipelines, and integrating LLMs or other AI models into production systems - Proven experience with AWS infrastructure and are comfortable in managing applications on any public cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Terraform. - You use LLM-based tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development, refactor code, and debug with understanding. You’ll treat AI as an assistant, not a substitute - you’ll remain in control of the code you ship. - Strong communicator who values clear documentation, collaborative code reviews, and team transparency.
