We were also voted by Crain's in 2017 as one of the Coolest Places to WorkPosition Overview : We are looking for an Associate Big Data Engineer with hands-on experience with Java, Python, SQL with some exposure to Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Sqoop, and Hive. The individual will be responsible to create solutions suitable for the job in a real-time, highly data-driven organization and make technical innovations happen.Job Responsibilities : Primary :- Understand business needs & apply analytical concepts to generate actionable business insights/optimization models- Write Java coding for Spark- Write Python/SQL code- Converting hard and complex techniques as well as functional requirements into the proper development with coding standards- To propose best practices and standards; handover to the operations- To maintain data security and privacy- Performs the analysis of large data stores and derive insights- Able to work independently and self-motivated and willingness to learn.- Preprocessing of data using any of the ETL toolsSecondary :- Handle the installation, configuration, and supporting of Hadoop Stack- Pre-processing of data using Sqoop, Spark, Scala, Hive- Write Scala coding for SparkQualifications : - Data Analyst / Developer with 2+ years of experience preferred. - Bachelors in Computer or Business related fields. - 2+ years of experience in Java / Python and SQL- Good understanding of Spark using SparkSQL, Hive, Sqoop. Understanding of Hadoop ecosystem- Experience in developing Key Project Documentation, and Technical Requirements.- Linux and Shell scriptingSkills : - Proficient level programming in Java- Proficient level programming in Python- Proficient in SQL- Should be able to work in linux environments- Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem and its components.- Familiarity of Scala- Good knowledge of the concepts of multi-threading and concurrency- Analytical and problem-solving skills; the implementation of these skills in Big Data domain- Experience to process large data set using Spark- Good knowledge of database principles, practices, structures, and theories- Must be a team player and enjoy working in a cooperative and collaborative team environment.- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision (ref:hirist.tech)
