Plant Feedstock Manager

Job Purpose:

• To establish and manage the feedstock supply chain from local farms involving post-harvest farm machinery.
• The feedstock should have a minimum catchment area so that transportation costs can be optimized.
• To work closely with the field operation team and zonal head to ensure that best practices are implemented in feedstock aggregation for CBG projects and to achieve economical yields.
• Implement SOPs and suggest improvement them for maximum feedstock aggregation at the most economical cost

Accountabilities:

1. Conduct surveys to assess surplus biomass, analyze crop production data, and evaluate market landscapes for agro-residue
2. Surplus Biomass Assessment (Quantity & Expected Landed Price)
3. Crop production data, residue management, farm machinery availability, alternative crop-residue usage, crop-residue costs, water resources, land characteristics, livestock population
4. Analyze the market landscape of agro-residue, including competitors, biomass traders, and capacity
5. Managing all day-to-day affairs in the assigned farm/s with respect to all activities involving labour and other vendor management for smooth and incident less farm operations.
6. Risk management at field level and ensuring resolution of all disputes that might arise while engaging with farmers
7. Demonstration of post-harvest farm machinery in the catchment area and showcase it to VLEs/Local farmers to motivate them to purchase farm machinery and enter into the feedstock supply business
8. Motivate village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs). Explain our business model for feedstock supply to the CBG Plant and its requirements
9. Lease agricultural land for feedstock storage
10. Implement SOPs practices for the function of TCCs
11. Act as a bridge between the farmer community and the Company to help farmers establish a business model for consistent feedstock supply
12. Negotiate feedstock supply and offtake agreements and optimize the commercial aspects feedstock supply to CBG Plants
13. Serve as the face-to-market for feedstock supply agreement negotiation and contract administration
14. Optimize feedstock supply and logistical costs
15. Work closely with the Zonal Head/Business Head (Feedstock) to optimize feedstock costs and establish a robust feedstock supply chain model for the CBG plant
16. Develop the annual operating plan, propose cost optimization ideas, and plan budgets and manpower for the state
17. Interface between Energy planation team and help them to establish and energy plantation supply chain model
18. Feedstock SCM MIS reporting for the state, all TCCs, CBG Plant etc on daily, monthly basis.
19. Physical supply of feedstocks to CBGs sites with close coordination with logistic team & plant consumption team
20. Develop Weekly, monthly feedstock supply plans
21. Supervise daily pipeline movements and plan month-end feedstock stock to ensure adequate supply & storage to be maintained
22. Adjust supply plans in response to unplanned outages and emergencies. Work closely with the plant operation team and field team internal and external groups to minimize business interruption
23. Manage physical inventory levels, feedstock price risk exposure
24. Maintain forward-looking Feedstock inventory forecasts and coordinate with field team of inventory to ensure compliance with physical feedstock audits

Qualifications:

• B.Sc./M.Sc in Agri sciences from a renowned institution or
• B.Tech/M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering
• MBA in Agri and/or Rural business (preferred)
