Role Description 

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Backend Engineer at IntelXLabs in Surat. The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining highly scalable backend systems capable of supporting 10M+ users. The role requires deep expertise in Laravel 10.x, PHP 8.2+, AWS cloud services, and advanced scaling techniques.


Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Laravel 10.x framework and its ecosystem, with a focus on high-performance applications
  • Mastery of PHP 8.2+, including optimization techniques for large-scale systems
  • Expert-level knowledge of Redis for caching, session management, and as a message broker
  • Profound understanding of database scaling techniques, including sharding and read replicas
  • Experience with AWS services at scale, particularly EC2 Auto Scaling, RDS with read replicas, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB
  • Expertise in designing and implementing microservices architecture
  • Proficiency in message queuing systems (e.g., Amazon SQS, RabbitMQ) for asynchronous processing
  • Experience with real-time communication protocols (WebSockets) and services like Pusher or Laravel Echo
  • Strong knowledge of caching strategies and content delivery networks (CDNs)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for large-scale deployments
  • Experience with distributed tracing and monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog)
  • Proficiency in optimizing database queries and designing efficient data models for high-volume data
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and their implementation in Laravel
  • Experience with GraphQL for efficient API queries at scale
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and Laravel Vapor
  • Knowledge of rate limiting and API throttling techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience scaling applications to support millions of users

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop backend systems capable of handling 10M+ users with high concurrency
  • Implement advanced caching strategies using Redis to optimize application performance
  • Design and manage distributed database systems, including sharding and replication strategies
  • Develop and maintain microservices architecture to ensure system scalability and resilience
  • Implement efficient asynchronous processing systems using message queues
  • Optimize Laravel and PHP configurations for maximum performance at scale
  • Design and implement real-time features capable of supporting millions of concurrent connections
  • Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
  • Implement and manage CDN solutions for global content delivery
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive API rate limiting and throttling systems
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for large-scale deployments
  • Conduct regular performance audits and implement optimizations
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in building highly scalable applications
  • Mentor junior developers in best practices for developing high-scale applications
  • Contribute to the company's knowledge base by documenting architectures, best practices, and lessons learned
