The Aixial Group is an International Contract Research Organization (CRO), a member of the ALTEN Group, providing complex services in clinical trials (phase I-IV) and non-interventional studies. Our offices are located in France, UK, US, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania, and India.
The CRO occupies a unique position in the clinical research industry, not only as an expert in the operational delivery of clinical trials in complex disease areas including oncology, immuno-oncology, and cell therapy, but also as a developer of its own technologies for managing clinical data. This is a very exciting time to join as we are at the cutting edge, defining new and more efficient ways to design, capture, manage, review, and visualize clinical trial data.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented FMV Manager willing to be involved in all spectrum of activities, including acting as Lead on studies. This role can be home-based in the UK or EU, where we have the ability to hire.
The FMV (Fair Market Value) Manager is responsible for ensuring that compensation rates for healthcare professionals (HCPs) are aligned with legal, ethical, and regional standards.

Key Responsibilities:
FMV Service Fee Table Updates & Alignment:
- The FMV Manager regularly updates the service fee tables that outline the compensation for HCPs. This involves aligning with local medical leads to ensure that the fees reflect the fair market value according to regional or country-specific standards.
- They document the agreed-upon compensation rates to maintain transparency and compliance.
Development of FMV Methodology:
- In collaboration with the tiering manager and local medical teams, the FMV Manager develops a methodology to assess and categorize HCPs into different tiers for compensation, based on factors like expertise, role, and experience.
- This methodology must meet local regulations and guidelines to ensure fairness and legal compliance.
Collaboration with Process and System Leads:
- The FMV Manager works closely with process and system leads to develop tools, databases, or repositories to streamline the FMV process. This may involve creating digital tools to track compensation, contracts, and compliance.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent: A educational background is necessary, usually in fields like healthcare, business administration, or law.
- Interpersonal & Customer Service Skills: The FMV Manager needs to maintain strong relationships with internal teams (medical leads, tiering managers) and possibly external stakeholders. This involves excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Innovation & Change Management: The role requires someone with a forward-thinking mindset, who can implement and manage changes, whether related to policy, processes, or technology, while maintaining compliance.
- Attention to Detail & Insightful Questions: Accuracy is critical in this role due to the sensitive nature of financial and legal compliance. The FMV Manager must be thorough in reviewing compensation rates and methodologies, and capable of asking the right questions to ensure alignment with regulations.
- Digital Literacy: Given the nature of the role, the FMV Manager must be comfortable with digital tools, data management systems, and potentially working with new technologies to improve processes.
- Accountability & Problem-Solving: The FMV Manager must act quickly and efficiently when issues arise, often finding flexible solutions in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ethical Standards: High ethical standards are essential to ensure the FMV process adheres to legal and regulatory frameworks, avoiding conflicts of interest or overcompensation.
- Languages: Advanced proficiency in English is required, but multilingual skills (especially French, in this case) could be an asset in global or regional roles.
The FMV Manager ensures that the compensation of HCPs is both fair and compliant with regional standards, while also driving the development of effective systems to manage and streamline the process. They act as a bridge between the legal, medical, and financial aspects of HCP compensation, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on the methodology and that documentation is thorough and up-to-date.
