Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Carbon Fiber Manufacturing Engineer with 5-8 years of hands-on experience in the setup and optimization of carbon fiber manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in composite materials, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes. This position will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety in our carbon fiber manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for carbon fiber production, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to translate product designs into manufacturable processes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to assess the viability of new carbon fiber products.
  • Set up and calibrate manufacturing equipment, including weaving, molding, and curing machines, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor production processes, analyze data, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and yield.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to carbon fiber production, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process control plans.
  • Train and mentor production staff on carbon fiber manufacturing processes and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in carbon fiber technology and manufacturing processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in carbon fiber manufacturing or related composite materials processing.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and optimizing carbon fiber manufacturing processes is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of carbon fiber production techniques, including prepreg, filament winding, and resin transfer molding (RTM).
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools for process design and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace, defence ,automotive, or sporting goods industries.
  • Knowledge of composite materials testing and characterization techniques.
  • Certification in quality or manufacturing processes (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Certification).
