As the Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Markets Technology division, you will lead multiple technical areas and oversee the operations of several departments. You will work collaboratively across various technical domains, utilizing your cross-functional expertise to promote the adoption and execution of technical strategies within diverse teams. Your role is vital in sustaining the firm's leadership in industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.

Job Responsibilities:

- Inspires and guide the Athena Post Trade Technology team in India, aligning with global strategies to drive transformative change.

- Innovates and elevate by spearheading the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the cutting-edge Athena Post Trade platform.

- Pioneers modernization by collaborating with global teams to lead application modernization and cloud migration projects, ensuring seamless integration and top-notch performance.

- Drives business growth by being at the forefront of business expansion initiatives, providing strategic technical guidance and solutions that propel our business forward.

- Cultivates excellence by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, empowering your team to reach new heights.

- Delivers excellence by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, robust software solutions that exceed business expectations and set industry standards.

- Mentors and inspire by nurturing and developing your team, providing mentorship and support to enhance their technical and professional skills.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise

- Proven track record as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

- Mastery of Python, with Athena experience

- Hands-on expertise in managing large-scale enterprise platforms, in post trade technology.

- Demonstrated success in leading application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a data-driven decision-making approach.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for collaborating with global teams and stakeholders.

- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

- Experience in the financial services industry, especially within Commercial and Investment Banking.

- Proficiency in agile development methodologies and practices.

- In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial sector.
