The Opportunity:

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of new Foundation Brakes systems and components or commodities. The role will also deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time and lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across specific programmes

The role will also lead / guide / mentor less experienced Engineers to achieve these same goals for their components / programmes.


Key responsibilities of the role will include:

Systems and components validated as meeting all requirements (DVP complete and approved), on time.

Systems and components released to support programme needs, on time.

AIMS / Issues resolved in a timely manner.

Mentored Engineers are achieving their KPI’s

Optimal Quality and Premium Consumer Product Audit requirements

Keep all Module documentation up to date including:

Meeting minutes

Foundation and Programme Design analysis documents

Quality history and bill of design

  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
  • Lead the innovation and research in core domains.


Key Performance Indicators:

Delivery of sub-system and commodities from concept selection through to industrialisation

AIMS / Issues resolved in a timely manner

Mentored Engineers are achieving their KPI’s

Skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential:

BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automotive/Production/Aerospace engineering disciplines

At least 10 years of relevant industry experience

Previous experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment

A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management principles / processes.

Experience of delivering technical requirements specifications and associated test plans

Experience of leading / mentoring / guiding less experienced team members.

Knowledge of Foundation brakes Systems.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, in English, with influencing and engagement skills.


Desirable:

Experience of working closely with international teams.

Proficient with JLR systems: iCreate, WERS, PACN, RPS, RMDV, DVP, AIMS, eAPQP, SAP.

CAD (Catia v6) capable.

ME/M.Tech/PhD in Mechanical/Machine Design/Automotive/Production
