JOB PURPOSE : We are seeking a visionary and hands-on UI/UX Lead or Manager to own the design and user experience strategy for our Drone Ground Control Station (GCS) and Fleet Management platform.This role combines Product thinking, human-centered design, and system-level UX to create interfaces that are not just functional - but intuitive, safe, and delightful to use.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : - Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design lifecycle for Web, Desktop, and tablet-based GCS and Fleet software - Design operator dashboards, mission planning workflows, live telemetry views, and map interfaces - Create Wireframes, User flows, Prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma or Adobe XD - Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Drone pilots, and developers to define intuitive interactions - Conduct contextual research with users (e.g. field teams, drone operators, mission planners) 6 Optimize information hierarchy for real-time monitoring, alerts, mission logs, and fleet health - Ensure a cohesive design language across modules including video feed, map overlays, telemetry, battery management, and mission planner - Lead and mentor a small design team (2-3 designers), and contribute individually when needed - Work with the frontend team to implement and QA UI components using design systems - Champion usability, accessibility, and safety-critical UX patterns relevant to Autonomous systems Skills Required : - Portfolio showcasing dashboards, map-based UI, or control interfaces - Experience designing systems with real-time data, geospatial interfaces, or mission planning 3 Strong command of design tools : Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Framer, etc. - Ability to create interactive prototypes and design specs for dev handoff - Strong UX research, information architecture, and wireframing skills Competitive Advantage : - Familiarity with drone systems, avionics, robotics, or SCADA-like dashboards - Understanding of map SDKs like Mapbox, Leaflet, Cesium, or OpenLayers - Knowledge of safety-critical UX design patterns or situational awareness principles - Experience in designing GCS or telemetry-heavy interfaces for aerospace or defense - Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or 3D visualizations in UX Leadership & Collaboration : - Guide product design vision for the GCS and drone command platforms - Collaborate with stakeholders from software, flight ops, QA, and hardware integration - Drive design reviews, usability tests, and feedback loops - Advocate for users while balancing engineering and regulatory constraintsPersonal Attributes : - Systems thinker with meticulous attention to detail - Passionate about drones, autonomy, and human-robot interaction - Empathy-driven leader who mentors and empowers other designers - Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative, and high-impact environments - Contributions to open-source UX libraries or drone tools - Experience with Flutter, React, or Qt for cross-platform deployment - Experience working in agile product teams or with ISO 26262 / DO-178-style processes QUALIFICATIONS MIN.
