About the Role :

Were seeking a QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in desktop application testing, particularly with Java Swing GUIs, to join a fast-paced engineering team building critical desktop tools. If youve built or tested thick-client or native desktop applications especially in Java this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Planning & Execution :

- Design and implement test strategies for desktop-based applications

- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for desktop UI and backend integration

- Ensure quality across platforms (desktop, mobile, API)

- Identify and manage defects using tools like JIRA or similar

Desktop UI Automation :

- Build and maintain automation frameworks for Java Swing-based desktop applications

- Collaborate closely with developers to improve testability and coverage

- Evaluate and integrate desktop automation tools and frameworks

API and Integration Testing

- Validate backend APIs using Postman or similar tools

- Perform DB validations using SQL queries

Quality Metrics & Collaboration :

- Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate across QA/Dev/Product

- Track and report testing progress, coverage, and risk

Must-Have Skills :

- Hands-on experience testing Java Swing GUI applications

- Experience automating Windows/Desktop applications

- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and test automation strategies

- Proficient with Postman for API testing and SQL for DB validation

- Familiarity with version control tools like Git

Nice to Have :

- Experience with tools such as Sikuli, AutoIt, WinAppDriver, TestComplete, or AssertJ-Swing

- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

- 3+ years of QA experience with a focus on desktop applications

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
