Some specific job duties of a project planner may include:

  1. Developing project plans and schedules that outline project objectives, deliverables, tasks, milestones, and deadlines. Collaborating with project teams to define project scope and requirements.
  2. Identifying project risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  3. Allocating project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  4. Monitoring project progress and performance, identifying deviations from the project plan, and taking corrective actions as needed.
  5. Facilitating communication and collaboration among project team members.
  6. Tracking project expenses and maintaining project budgets.
  7. Preparing and presenting project status reports to stakeholders, including senior management.
  8. Conducting post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
  9. Ensuring compliance with project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.

Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering (Electrical) is essential.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience is required.
  • Candidates should have planning experience, ideally within renewable or power transmission and distribution projects, with a strong background in construction and commissioning activities, preferably gained on-site.
  • Experience in construction planning is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in planning software such as MS Project or Primavera, as well as Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
