Team Lead - CMS

# What we're looking for

We seek a leader who will predominantly be responsible for managing and developing CMS projects alongside other projects & applications. The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in building teams, motivating them, and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure performance at it’s best. While leadership and people management are the primary responsibilities; this candidate should also be technically proficient and capable of contributing to hands-on coding whenever necessary. So experience with any of the CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and Craft etc is necessary.

- Lead a team of software engineers, and provide guidance, mentorship, and motivation.
- Lead by example; stepping in during critical situations and taking in a hands-on coding approach to successfully navigate challenges.
- Challenge your fellow team leads and be open to receiving challenges from them. Growth comes from pushing beyond our comfort zone.
- Showcase passion in everything you do, eventually inspiring your team.
- Be ready to tackle challenges in the system, and collaborate with other engineering leaders to elevate the Engineering Department to the next level.
- Adhere to the defined process, policies & SOPs.
- Be a great team player and display proactive communication to resolve dependencies within & outside the development department & the project teams.
- Engage in conversations that are objective & data-driven, and ensure that the overall quality of the project deliverables are of supreme priority.
- Mentor junior developers in the team.

# Qualifications

- Must have played the role of a team leader by managing at least 4 engineers.
- At least 6 years experience spread across multiple CMS platforms like WordPress, Craft, Shopify etc.
- Exposure in creating Themes and Plugins, and extending core functionality
- Extensive experience in Front-end and Back-end development of CMS technologies
- Understanding of Front-end technologies, like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, RWD etc.
- Expertise in WordPress / CMS multisite architecture and custom plugin development.
- Strong knowledge in popular page builders such as Elementor, Beaver Builder, or Divi.
- Good knowledge in headless CMS architecture.
- Knowledge of interacting with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and formats (JSON, XML)
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
- Extensive experience in Accessibility (WCAG 2.0+, WCAG 3, UAAG, ARIA, etc.).
- Maintain high coding standards and adhere to the defined/established Architectural guidelines.
- Optimise website / application for maximum speed and scalability
- Strong organising skills and ability to strictly adhere the process in a disciplined manner.
- Ability to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be an enthusiast with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a go-for-it attitude.

# Bonus Points

- Knowledge of HubSpot CMS, Craft CMS, and Drupal.
- Experience in building custom Gutenberg block / block pattern development.
- Experience with Google Analytics and HubSpot Analytics.
- Experience with WordPress security best practices
- Familiarity with WordPress code standards and guidelines.
