Summary
The Decision Analyst will play an instrumental role for BMS, as they will be responsible for applying advanced statistical analysis and optimization techniques to support data-driven decision-making processes. The Decision Analyst will develop and implement descriptive/explanatory models, decision support models, segmentation strategies, portfolio analyses, test/experimental designs, and measurement frameworks to provide actionable insights and recommendations that enhance business performance and drive growth in the region.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, oversee, and implement advanced statistical models, decision support models, and optimization techniques to solve complex business problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather/analyze data, define problems, and identify KPIs for decision-making
- Apply statistical analysis, regression modeling, clustering, segmentation, etc. to uncover trends and drivers in the data
- Conduct portfolio analyses to optimize resource allocation, product positioning, and investment strategies
- Design, implement, and oversee test designs to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, pricing strategies, or other business initiatives
- Create measurement frameworks and KPI dashboards to monitor business performance and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into projects and actionable recommendations
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging methodologies, and best practices related to statistical analysis, optimization, and decision support
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior analysts and team members as required
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of statistical analysis, optimization techniques, and decision support models
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability of analysis
- Strong understanding of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing methodologies
- Strong business acumen and communication skills, ability to translate analytical findings into actionable insights and recommendations and communicate information to non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Ability to design dashboards and other data visualizations to communicate key findings and trends effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and lead other team members
- Strong fit with BMS Behaviours (Passion, Innovation, Urgency, Accountability, Inclusion, Integrity) is required
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related discipline
- Certification or training in decision analysis, statistical modeling, or related
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a decision analysis, statistical modeling, or optimization role, preferably within the biopharma or pharmaceutical industry
- Experience working with large datasets, statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS, Python), data visualization tools (Tableau), and application development environments (e.g. Domino)
- Experience with descriptive/explanatory models, regression modeling, clustering, segmentation, and portfolio analysis
- Familiarity with the biopharma industry, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and healthcare data sources - particularly in European, Asian, and Latin/South American Countries
- Experience managing projects and/or leading teams
- Full business English proficiency required; proficiency in other major international languages (German, French, etc) is beneficial

BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
