Amazon Transportation team is seeking an innovative, hands-on Business Analyst for the Analytics team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills. They must have strong technical abilities and the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

The candidate must have the foresight to identify and address issues before they arise, implementing solutions to prevent outages. They should be skilled at prioritizing projects, making sound decisions, enhancing the customer experience, and achieving goals.

This role necessitates adaptability and a quick learning curve. Primary duties involve problem identification, developing analytical frameworks for operational streamlining, pinpointing process gaps through data analysis, collaborating with relevant teams for solutions, and sharing updates with internal stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Apply expertise across domains/processes and oversee end-to-end strategy.
  • Transform complex business challenges into analysis requirements and maintain high standards.
  • Develop analytical approaches and seek validation from stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define use cases and standardize outputs.
  • Enhance data processes and reports, enabling clients to update queries autonomously.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of data for intricate analyses.
  • Utilize various data sources efficiently and pull data through streamlined query development.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, emphasizing team interactions.
  • Update stakeholders on program progress.
  • Address roadblocks with proposed solutions.
  • Represent the team in medium-sized analytical projects and facilitate effective cross-team communication.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 2+ years of proficiency in Excel VBA macros.
  • Familiarity with SQL or ETL.
  • Experience in requirements definition and deriving business insights from data and metrics.
  • Proficiency with reporting and Data Visualization tools like QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI packages.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience handling extensive datasets.
  • Master's degree in business or analytical discipline.
