Data Science is at the core of Nielsens business.

Our team of researchers come from diverse disciplines and they drive innovation, new product ideation, experimental design and testing, complex analysis and delivery of data insights around the world.

Youre a visionary who can also executeyou see the possibilities, then create a plan and make it happen. You understand media measurement or are able to quickly pick up domain knowledge on the job. ### ABOUT THE JOB

Our team builds methodologies that integrate Nielsens state-of-the-art data assets into cutting-edge audience measurement and planning products. The Lead Data Scientist will orchestrate production pipelines for our content measurement for TV, digital, and radio platforms. Meetings are usually held during standard East Coast working hours; some flexibility may be required for international coordination.

### QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or other STEM fields
  • Proficiency in Python, Spark, or Scala to develop sharable software with the appropriate technical documentation
  • Experience with enterprise data systems
  • Extensive experience in work with cloud platforms
  • Experience of work with Hadoop, Apache Spark, and other big data systems
  • Experience with Atlassian suite is a plus
  • Proven track record of design and implementation of data pipelines (e.g. using Airflow)
  • Experience with statistical and machinelearning models
  • Experience with both designed and organic data
  • 4 or more years work experience in data engineering or data science
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex problems to technical and nontechnical audiences
