The Role: Platform Engineer

The Team: Platform Enablement offers a set of tools and frameworks that simplify application development, including IDEs, SDKs, and Source control systems. We also help developers with their pipeline solutions in Azure DevOps, GitLab, and GitHub Enterprise.

The Impact: Our Platform Engineer will support other platform engineers assigned to existing development teams. Together we will collaborate with them by assisting with designing infrastructure, monitoring performance, automating processes, and resolving issues. We strive to create a developer-friendly environment, enabling efficient software development and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding Requirements:
  • Collaborate with development teams to comprehend infrastructure needs for various applications.
  • Infrastructure Development:
  • Design and build the necessary infrastructure for applications, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Configuration Management:
  • Configure GitHub Projects, services, and actions to run smoothly
  • Monitoring & Maintenance:
  • Monitor infrastructure for issues and perform updates to maintain optimal performance and cost.
  • API Strategy Alignment:
  • Interface with application teams to understand their API strategy, including new APIs and enhancements to existing ones

What We're Looking For:

  • Educational Background:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, computer engineering.
  • Hands-On Experience:
  • Proficiency with technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Terraform
  • Familiarity with tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps
  • Inquisitive Mindset:
  • A strong sense of inquiry and questioning helps in problem-solving and continuous learning.
  • Self-Starter & Time Management:
  • Being a self-starter with excellent time management skills is crucial for success in this role.
