Position: Body Dimensional Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Responsibility:

  • Body dimensional accuracy, process variation. Develop/architect body assembly datum strategy based on efficient & flexible assembly tooling design and body dimensional accuracy control.
  • Work with Product Engineering for DFMEA related product design changes. Analyze, troubleshoot, and develop control plan to meet body dimensional metrics and contain variation.
  • Leading cross-functional teams through root cause analysis, launch support. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Stamping & product team for a feedback loop for stampings, extrusions, castings, etc.
  • Develop, validate, and incorporate total vehicle Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • Lead design and production of all assembly fixtures used in the body shop.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Software skills: SolidWorks/UG NX, AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Production & Quality Control in manufacturing.
  • Extensive Experience in BIW Product development and Manufacturing Processes.
  • Experience in Aluminum and Steel Body Structures.
  • Experience in method planning, series tool design, and manufacturing concepts of BIW Parts.
  • Experience in Dimensional Variation Analysis (3D and 2D Stack up).
  • Independent and Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering highquality work.
  • Willing to learn any new technologies required for the role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Education: B.E. / B.Tech / in Mechanical Engineering

Good to Have:

  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment with frequent prioritization adjustment.
  • Independent and Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
  • Willing to learn any new technologies required for the role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
