Job DescriptionWhat you will be responsible for in this role:
- Contributing to an escalations team within Operations that focuses on databases, performance, infrastructure, scalability, and innovative solutions.
- Implementing Database Performance Tuning & improvements for MariaDB/MySQL and Postgres databases.
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis of database issues, proposing enhancements in deployment topology.
- Executing migrations from MariaDB/MySQL to Postgres.
- Providing on-call support during weekends.
- Leading individual projects, managing schedules, and reporting progress.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve identified bugs.
- Proactively monitoring customer infrastructure to prevent high-priority escalations.
- Ensuring that Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR) for any issues remains within SLA benchmarks.
- Conducting in-depth analyses of Database and ServiceNow Platform performance bottlenecks.
- Over 5 years of experience in database management and optimizing performance of Mysql and Postgres databases.
- More than 3 years of experience in providing support for SaaS, PaaS, or Cloud Infrastructure products/solutions.
- Solid grasp of DB architecture, schemas, table spaces, indexing/query optimization, and database performance enhancement.
- Demonstrated expertise in concurrency, multithreading, and distributed system architectures.
- Knowledge or familiarity with CentOS/RedHat operating systems at an administrative/root level.
- Extensive experience with application/database performance engineering tools is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in data mining tools like Splunk, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Unix skills, encompassing development, file navigation, manipulation, permissions, search operations, and administrative tasks.
- Scripting abilities including basic shell scripting, Python, and desirable knowledge of Javascript.
- Prior experience with the ServiceNow platform, scripting, tuning, and troubleshooting is a significant plus.
- Formal experience in DevOps, support, or operational teams is preferred.
- Experience in supporting large-scale web-based distributed applications running on JVM/Apache/Tomcat is advantageous.
