Sr Systems Engineer:Responsible for change management and problem management, application, and configuration management, and production support of strategic web-based applications on Windows, Linux, hosted, and cloud platformsAbout the Role
  • Work with application teams to manage and support applications into production
  • Continuous improvement to an ongoing support model including release and change management for maintaining the strategic environments (production, non-production, etc.)
  • Provide well-documented documentation and technical presentations on projects supported by the team.
  • Provide problem management services by utilizing diagnostic and debugging tools to aid in troubleshooting efforts, including 24x7 rotating pager support.
  • Coordinate the implementation of application monitoring, establish support documentation, and provide training on products and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance on the troubleshooting, and performance tuning of the supported environments.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Sr Systems Engineer if your background includes
  • Four-year college degree, two-year technical college degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 5-6 years of experience in Systems Engineer/Application Support role Knowledge and Skills
  • Work independently on complex tasks with minimal technical and management guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Basic understanding of AWS services
  • Good understanding of windows servers, IIS, and Linux platform.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Good understanding of monitoring tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, etc.
  • Significant experience with a wide range of IT operations functions with a strong interest in application support, SRE tools, and overall system configuration
  • Good knowledge on one or more scripting languages like PowerShell or Python, etc.
  • Strong analytical, organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills required
  • Independence to acquire and maintain technical skills for professional development
  • Organized and creative problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to support a variety of applications, crossing multiple platforms, including providing 24x7 pager coverage on a rotating basis
  • Basic understanding of one or more configuration management tools like Terraform/Ansible/PowerShell DSC, etc.
Desired
  • Working knowledge of Windows Servers (multiple versions) and Linux platforms required.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability required.
  • Basic understanding of network and database technologies a plus
  • Good to have any AWS Certification.
