As a member of the Systems Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in managing various initiatives within our Commercial Systems.

This position is key to the System Engineering team's operations and involves close collaboration with internal and external teams to oversee vulnerabilities, scan results, and projects related to patching, updates, and upgrades. The role necessitates a strong technical grasp of system engineering, encompassing areas like operating systems (Linux), configuration management, change management, security scans, vulnerability analysis, and remediation.

You will need to collaborate with multiple teams across the organization to ensure all systems meet the company's SLAs regarding vulnerabilities and government regulations.

The role demands teamwork to devise timely solutions for issues and challenges in order to meet internal and government SLAs.

What you will do in this role:

  • Identify ongoing issues in the environment and propose sustainable long-term solutions.
  • Execute decisions effectively and track the progress of the initiatives.
  • Educate stakeholders and customers on infrastructure intricacies concerning compliance and security.
  • Collaborate with other system engineering teams for upgrades, updates, and patching.
  • Engage with external teams, like compliance and security, to uphold high security standards in compliance with federal mandates.
  • Create, update, and improve documentation and knowledge resources.
  • Assess vulnerability scan results and address them appropriately.
Qualifications

Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like java, python, or go.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale system designs and operations.
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and elements, such as DNS, Mail, Networking, System OS, and hardware.
  • Expertise in security scanners, vulnerabilities, and resolving vulnerabilities.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to collaborate with globally dispersed peers.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Capability to adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective in clarifying ideas, issues, and solutions.
  • Strong coordination and troubleshooting skills for managing complex incidents and escalations.
