The shared services org within Digital Acceleration will own tier one services which manager the storage layer as well as privacy and tooling initiatives for Digital Acceleration.
The teams in this charter maintain highly scalable, low latency, highly available, cost-effective persistence, eventing and data replication solutions to meet the requirements of the Digital and Subscription businesses at Amazon.
We are looking for an outstanding Senior Manager, Software Development, who has the passion for working on challenging problems.If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, know how to deliver, are technical and innovative, and looking for an opportunity to build systems and solutions at scale, we want to talk to you.
Ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and solid people management skills to build, manage and develop a highly-talented and experienced engineering team.
Strong judgment and communication skills, long-term technical vision, and continuous focus on engineering and operational excellence are essential for the success in this role.
Key Job Responsibilities:Define the vision for your teams and lead them with passion and empathy towards executing that vision
Shape the teams structure and technical strategy to address business needs
Lead several teams in designing, developing, documenting, and rolling out large-scale services
Grow leaders who will disambiguate a complex business area and translate it into tech systems
Evaluate and make decisions around the use of existing software products and tools and building new ones
Ensure operational readiness and excellence in maintaining systems in production
Collaborate with multiple business stakeholders, engineering, and design teams to coordinate, prioritize and deliver products/solutions
A Day in the Life:
You are the owner of your team and product, diving into any problem with your engineers and stakeholders to invent scalable solutions and remove roadblocks to protect Amazon from the bad actors.
You are also the mentor and champion of your team members, helping them grow in their career aspirations and technical growth.

Amazon Digital Acceleration powers ordering, subscriptions, and device management for Prime, Amazon Video, Music, Audible, Alexa, and Kindle, amongst other digital businesses.
