Role Summary & Role Description:

Networks as a Service (NaaS) is seeking a highly skilled developer to add to our growing development team within GTS. As key member of Critical Services Engineering; you will be part of Network Engineering and Automation team. This position is an AVP (Assistant-Vice President) role that requires attention to detail, good organization, and communication skills.

Your goal is to deliver products to our global network team which will assist with the transformation to an automated network and network security environment. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a global organization and participate in the development of the next generation network automation architecture. Ideal candidates will have well-rounded knowledge of programming languages such as python, network management tools, engineering technologies, cloud automation, and basic networking knowledge.

What you'll do:

  • Knowledge of source code management systems, version control tools and developing web services
  • Interface with the core network engineering, and DevOps teams as necessary, to understand technology and business requirements.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task different testing assignments and projects
  • Experience using RESTful APIs to integrate various technologies.
  • Responsible for understanding the business objectives and translating the business requirements into IT solutions.
  • Has thorough knowledge of infrastructure technology interdependencies
  • Requires subject matter expertise in networking with demonstrated success designing and deploying network management and monitoring solutions
  • Demonstrates an ability to write succinct assessments of technology features and functionality for a broad IT audience that spans support staff to management and presents the business value or use case strengths/limitations of the technology
  • Leads evaluation, assessment and direct questioning of vendors and industry analysts in pursuit of understanding product viability to State Street requirements, future needs, and ecosystem appropriateness.
  • Conduct research, testing and evaluations on network automation solutions.
  • Ability to develop and update standards documentation and train others
  • Final technical escalation point of contact for network technologies.

Who you are:

  • Strong technical expertise preferred in network management and monitoring tools such as Netreo, ThousandEyes, Splunk, and NetBrain
  • Highly proficient in Python scripting
  • Solid experience with of web data formats including JSON and XML
  • Experience with network and infrastructure automation technologies a plus
  • Automation focused and engineering mind set.
  • Openness and ability to learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the team members and superiors
  • Ability to lead and execute large, complex projects related to new technology integration
  • The desire to grow your own skills, as well as the skills of your peers
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure when resolving complex issues with strict deadlines
  • Self motivated and passionate individual Team player, ability to effectively communicate ideas and escalate issues across teams in a timely manner.

Core/Must have skills:

  • Strong technical expertise preferred in network management and monitoring tools such as Netreo, ThousandEyes, Splunk, and NetBrain
  • Solid experience with of web data formats including JSON and XML
  • Basic familiarity with network devices, load balancers, firewalls, and SDWAN
  • Extremely good communication & presentation skills, confident and presentable
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent desired
  • Should have 14+ years of professional work experience, 6+ years experience in the data networking field

Work Schedule: Hybrid

Location: Bangalore or Hyderabad
