MVS Assembler

Primary skill

· To be strong in MVS Assembler fundamentals, and the Assembler Macros, and be able to analyse the Assembler listing. Need to have strong hands-on experience in Assembler on z/OS

· To be able to analyse the Assembler programs, extract the business rules and prepare the technical documentation

· To be able to develop new programs in Cobol, DB2 and Assembler based on the design documents

· Good to have Assembler to Cobol, Assembler to C/C++ modernization experience

· Must be able to adapt to do tool development on Mainframe for process automation

· Soft Skills: Good communication, analytical and presentation skills, problem solving skills and learning attitude

Secondary skills

· Development experience in C/C++languages

· Scripting languages – REXX, Python

Roles and responsibilities:

· Associate will be part of the Legacy Modernization team.

· Associate is also responsible for the deliverables for those consulting projects which will include the technical assessment of the application, Tools development, Application data analysis.

· There would be requirement for customization in the framework for different system applications based on the technology they are using, and associate shall be able to understand the requirement and will modify the framework accordingly.

· Associate will also be involved during the actual implementation phase of the project to provide better guidance and best practices to improve the overall quality of Cognizant's deliverable to the client in projects.

· It would be an added advantage if associate has prior experience on Modernization Projects / has Partner solution experience with Microfocus, Heirloom, LzLabs
