You will be working as R&D Team Lead at global grade 13 and will be part of Motion business area for Large Motors & Generators division based in Vadodara, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Principal Engineer and will be responsible for leading R&D team to successfully deliver new product development projects as per market requirements. In this role, you will oversee R&D Engineers to meet the requirements of product development projects and identifying and implementing innovative solutions to relevant problems. Providing ideas and can work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

Your responsibilities
  • Leading product development projects and coordinating work of multi-location and cross-functional project teams. Monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones
  • Supporting the R&D manager for an assigned domain in the planning and management of research and development (R&D) activities and resources
  • Working closely with Product Managers and Leadership team throughout the product development life cycle in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Supporting R&D Engineers for establishing cross-functional design reviews, analyzing concepts and evaluating cost effectiveness of the component or assembly designs
  • Managing assigned resources for R&D activities, assigning tasks to team members and supervises workload and work allocation within the project team. Ensuring appropriate competencies are developed and acquired within the team to support development of future products and systems
  • Partnering with Local Business Unit management to ensure appropriate representation of needs within R&D projects. Evaluating local market requirements and innovation and providing feedback to appropriate product, manufacturing and R&D strategies
Your background
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product design (with 5 years in Electromechanical R&D role) or 5 years of hands-on design experience as FEM engineer
  • Expertise in PLM, ERP and (3D) CAD systems
  • Proficient with more than one of the listed tools: office365, ANSYS, LMS
  • Experience in Electrical products like medium voltage and high voltage AC motor design
  • Experienced user of Agile development process and tools
  • Excellent in one of the listed fields: FEM, Vibration, Rotor dynamics, Noise, Heat transfer theory, CFD are desirable
